South Beach is famous for many things: the gorgeous beaches, exciting nightlife, amazing shopping and the beautiful people who indulge in all of the above and more. However, it is not really know as a place to hold a protest or take a stand, unless it’s over overpriced mediocre food or drinks. Even then, most people just accept it. I mean it is South Beach, America’s French Riviera, as some might call it. So you can imagine my surprise, when I happened up on a PETA protest taking place in front of the A/X store in the heart of South Beach, Collins and 9th to be exact.

As my friends continued to walk back to my apartment, I stopped to speak with the protesters for a moment. It turns out that they were protesting Armani’s purchase of fur from rabbit fur farms and slaughterhouses in China and France. Honestly, I don’t recall Armani using fur in their line, but I’ll take their word for it. Now I don’t have an opinion on this issue, but I did have my camera with me and thought this would make for a great photo op. By the way the fur they are wearing is real. I know, I don’t get it either, especially since it was about 84 degrees in the middle of the day.
